Something new for Christmas

Nightgown or PJ's
Something for boys too.

I'm still trying to figure out what might be my "big hit" This is my lastest idea and I've had two orders so far.

Fall Colors

Sometimes in South Florida the only place you see fall colors is in the fabric store. These are a few of what I've been working on.

Before and After in the Kitchen

I'm still here

I feel like I need to reintroduce myself. We have been busy, busy lately. I have been sewing like crazy. We did a small remodel project in our kitchen. We took Mackenzie to Orlando for a Taekwondo Tournament, last weekend. We'll be helping out at Kenzie's school Fall Festival on Saturday. She got her report card last week , we got 5 A's and 2 B's . 6th grade homework keeps us both on our toes. Next weekend we will be in Tampa for Nicole's graduation!!! She will finally have her RN. So that about sums up things around here, I probably left a few things out but you get the picture. Speaking of pictures, I'll be posting some pictures of some new things when I remember how . Hope you like what you see.

Pictures of the Open House- Finally

A few weekends ago I had my official first OPEN HOUSE introducing lil chicks.  Bonnie came into town to help me get my stuff all set up and support me.  We had a great time together.  She even made two more dresses while she was here.
I also had a GREAT support of friends that both helped and shopped out the sale.  This is a picture of my friends Diane and Sandy.  We have been friends for years, sewing and crafting together.  Diane is a big crafter brought some of her goodies over to the house to sell too.

Friday morning we both wanted to sleep in but neither of us could. I guess we were both to excited. We spent the morning setting up the house for the sale.  Everything looked really good together and filled up the house. the set up
I had little gift baskets made up with a childs apron and either kitchen, gardening, or artist goodies. My husband made the dress stands. they showed off the dresses so nicely.
We had hair bows, dresses, gift baskets, aprons, burp cloths, diaper bag tags and few other things. It was a ton of fun. I didnt sell to many of the little girl things, just because not many of the people that came had little girls to buy for.  So after the open house we packed everything up into a suit case for Bonnie to bring up to tennessee with her. She has lots of girl friends will young girls. She will have a little show there and try to sell some more dresses. I also have fall and christmas sales lined up at big crafts shows so I am looking forward to that.

another new look

different colors and different embroidery on this one.

while visiting with bonnie and the kids i picked up a new book she just purchased and randomly opened to this..." some invest thier talents and give God credit. others misuse thier talents and give God grief. " i want to give God all the glory with this new journey he is allowing me to take right now. ( the book is by one of my favorite authors, max lucado. "cure for the common life")

My first sale

While my oldest daughter and her kids were visiting us, one of her girl friends from high school wa also in town. They got together one day and let all the kids play together while they visited and caught up with each other. Well I loved to show off my latest dresses and in doing so a beautiful young lady fell in love with one of the dresses. We asked her to try it on so she could be a little model for us. It fit her perfect like it was made just for her. She didnt take it off the rest of the time they were over and begged her mommy for the dress. I was so excited to make my first sale and to see how pretty she was in the dress. She truly loved it and that made me so happy. I love getting to do this!
I have had lots of compliments on this style of dress so I better get busy and start making some more.

A little bit about Lil Chicks

About this hobby: I enjoy finding reasonably priced fabrics, combining colors and patterns and making cute items for little girls from what started as cloth wrapped around cardboard.

All fabrics are cotton or cotton blends, pre-washed and made in my smoke free home. They are one of a kind, individually and hand made. Dresses range from casual summer dresses to more dressy church type dress. Sizes range from 18 months to Size 7 girls.

Most dresses include special touches like custom embroidery.
Items include:
* dresses and bears to match (sold together or individually) (bear dresses also fit baby dolls)
* matching hostess aprons for mommy and daughter

* gift baskets for your budding artist with handmade apron, water color paints, crayons, glue stick, safety scissors and paper.

* gift baskets for your little kitchen helper includes her very own just-my-size apron, measuring cups and spoons, wooden spoon, cookbook and cake or muffin mix.

* gift baskets for your green thumb include child sized apron, garden gloves, seeds, watering can, and garden tool.

Pictures of gift baskets and aprons coming soon! (items subject to change upon availability)

Other accessories we have are hand made hair bows and sunglasses.

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

A little bit about ME

Thank you for visiting my new blog, I am so excited to share my new adventure with you. I hope you enjoy browsing.

About me: I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband of 32 years who works very hard to make it possible for me to have been a stay at home mom for the last 29. He is a great encouragement and one of my biggest cheerleaders. We have 4 children-- 2 daughters, 2 sons. Our oldest 2 are married and we have 3 grandchildren. My nickname, Mama-P, came from our children's friends as they were growing up. Our daughters are "bookends," I lovingly call our 1st born chickie and our youngest then became little chick. I learned to sew in high school---more frustration than enjoyable. Then picked it back up when I got married so I could do some decorating in our home. In 1980 our 1st daughter was born, I've been hooked ever since. It's very enjoyable for me and rewarding to have a chance to create. It's my " thearpy." I've been sewing in my home with friends for about 18 years.

I also love to read and am involved in a women's bible study, but what I love most is spending time with our children and grandchildren.
